Your wedding day is probably the second most important day in your life (the first being your day of birth) so no wonder couples try their best to make it not just perfect but memorable. There’s a lot of things you can do for your partner that can make that (usually extremely stressful) day more enjoyable. Here’s six creative ways to spice up your wedding and surprise your life partner in a romantic way:
– Plan some alone time after the vows. Simple enough, and a flexible idea that you can incorporate into your own wedding ceremony. If you’re marrying near a lake or something, rent a boat and take her on a romantic ride that will make her feel like she’s in Venice. It’s a perfect opportunity to get some alone time, but keep in mind that sound travels farther and clearer above still water – do whisper if you’re talking about something private. 🙂 Alternatively, if it’s on the cold side, you can take a short chariot ride just to enjoy each other for a while, before you return to the guests.
– Engrave your wedding bands with something your partner would like. It can be a quote, a song lyric, something just your own, and to make it fun – keep it a secret till the wedding. You’ll both get a “customized” surprise and in it – something that you’ll cherish for the rest of your lives. It may even be your wedding dates or something that is sure to make your partner laugh. Be creative.
– Include his favorite foods. Ladies, this is hands down the most fail-safe idea you can possibly think of. It’s so simple and so brilliant, and your man will love you to bits for it – include his favorite snacks and meals on the wedding and make it feel like home. Who knows, maybe you’ll loosen him up enough that he gets an idea to do something stupid that you can tell your grandchildren about. But men and food – you’d have to be total strangers to mess this one up.
– Breakfast in bed in the morrow. Again a food related idea, but a good one and also a pretty safe bet that works for both partners. Unannounced, just bring the warm feeling of home to the bed and surprise your partner with the best you can offer to start your first day together. Ask your Maid of Honor or planner to prepare something, because after the wedding you’ll both be dead tired and fatigued.
– Make your partner’s life-long wish come true. Try to contact some people and get one of the musicians that your lady is a fan of to turn up at the wedding. 95% will decline, but who knows, you just might run into a singer, guitarist that would love to make someone’s life-long wish come true. If you have to pay them – pay them. It’s just respect for someone’s time and gesture. But it doesn’t have to involve people. Maybe your girl just loves dogs but never had one growing up. We all know at least one such person, and they most likely grew up in a city where having a dog without a yard can be a pain. Well, anyway – this guy decided to go with that idea and judging by the look on her face, he did alright.
– A wee bit dirty but hey, it’s a trend – Take some boudoir photos, nothing fancy, not too revealing. It’s something he’ll surely like and couldn’t be more of a fabulous gift. You don’t have to channel the vibes of Playboy, but you can make it sensual by wearing his favorite sports jersey or his 9-to-5 business shirt (and nothing else). Most brides choose to surprise their groom with boudoir photos on the very day of the wedding.
